Frame Rate Pro was created by filmmakers for filmmakers and inspired by Akira Kurosawa with his classic film, Seven Samurai.

When film is captured at a rate faster than will be played back, slow motion is created. In the early days this was known as overcranking because the camera operator would manually crank the camera faster than 24 frames per second. FRP can also do the opposite, known as undercranking. Take footage at low speed and play it back at high speed to create fast motion videos. Undercranking can create stunning footage for clouds, ice and as a time dilation indicator.

Slow motion scenes have been mixed with normal speed scenes or decades and are notably demonstrated by viewing movies such as The Matrix, FaceOff and in documentaries such as Planet Earth.

The length of your developed film and the speed at which it plays are affected by the input frame rate and output frame rate settings.

If the output frame rate is greater than input frame rate, your video will be shorter and will move faster than a video with a standard frame rate. If output frame rate is less than input frame rate, the video will move slower and will be longer than a video taken with a standard frame rate.
